Manoj Ahuja
Co-Founder & Director, Compliance and Risk
Manoj Ahuja is an accomplished executive and strategic advisor specializing in regulatory compliance, anti-money laundering (AML), financial crime, risk management, privacy, fraud prevention and governance. With more than 25 years of combined experience across compliance, financial crime, privacy, risk, audit and finance, his career includes senior responsibilities at ivari, Scotiabank, HSBC and MCB Bank. With global experience across banking, insurance, credit unions, lending, wealth and securities, payments, money services businesses, fintech and cryptocurrency, he helps organizations navigate complex regulatory environments while building practical, scalable and effective risk frameworks.
Over the course of his career, Manoj has served in senior leadership capacities including Chief Compliance Officer (CCO), Chief Anti-Money Laundering Officer (CAMLO), Chief Privacy Officer (CPO) and Head of Fraud Risk, with a strong foundation in financial control, audit and enterprise risk management. He combines executive leadership experience with deep technical knowledge of compliance, controls, financial crime and regulatory requirements.
Manoj specializes in designing, implementing and strengthening AML/ATF, sanctions and regulatory compliance programs, including risk-based assessments, compliance policies and procedures, KYC and enhanced due diligence, client onboarding, transaction monitoring, financial crime investigations, sanctions screening, ongoing monitoring and compliance testing. He also advises organizations on regulatory remediation, compliance effectiveness, examination readiness and the development of sustainable control environments.
His broader risk expertise encompasses enterprise risk management, operational risk, third-party risk, conduct risk, internal controls, risk and control self-assessments, governance and assurance frameworks. Manoj works closely with organizations to identify control weaknesses, assess emerging risks and implement proportionate mitigation strategies that align regulatory expectations with operational and commercial realities.
He also brings extensive experience at the intersection of compliance, technology and business transformation. His expertise includes financial crime management systems, transaction monitoring, screening technologies, risk models, process automation, business process re-engineering and the optimization of technology-enabled compliance controls. This allows him to help organizations modernize their compliance functions while improving efficiency, scalability and oversight.
Manoj has particular expertise in higher-risk customer and entity assessments, enhanced due diligence, fraud detection, transaction laundering risk, screening alert adjudication and financial crime investigations. He has also worked extensively with regulatory and privacy requirements affecting financial institutions and emerging financial services, including Canadian and U.S. regulatory environments.
His experience extends into financial management, accounting, taxation, financial controls, audit, assurance and strategic business operations, giving him a broader perspective on how regulatory, financial and operational risks interact. This multidisciplinary approach enables him to address compliance challenges as part of an organization's overall governance and business strategy rather than as isolated regulatory requirements.
At Supportix Global, Manoj focuses on helping clients turn regulatory requirements into practical controls, clear responsibilities and evidence of work completed. He regularly advises boards, senior executives and leadership teams on governance, regulatory risk, financial crime, compliance transformation and organizational resilience. His approach is practical and risk-based: translating complex regulations into clear requirements, effective controls and actionable strategies that organizations can implement and sustain.
He holds the Certified Anti-Money Laundering Specialist (CAMS) designation, CPFA (UK) and Fellow Chartered Accountant (FCA) credentials, and has completed/enrolled in Chief Compliance Officer (CCO) qualification training.
